Vote for a Pit Bull! This is not a political statement referring to the upcoming presidential election. I'm encouraging you to vote today in the Animal Rescue Site's Shelter Challenge.
Although I try to bring equal time to any breed of dog to this blog, my heart is invested in the Pit Bull. Pit Rescue of the Great Plains, the only Pit Bull rescue in South Dakota, is one of the eligible rescues in the Animal Shelter competition. Two of our pups, Lady and Ginger were adopted through this rescue. PRGP continues to provide a haven for Pit Bulls in need in the Sioux Falls area, as well as education for owners and potential owners.
As of today they are ranked 5th in our state. Please continue to vote for them. This is a call to all Pit Bull moms and dads that read my blog. If you've met my dogs you know that our family believes in the need for good families for this breed. Recent bans and laws targeting Pit Bulls are truly born from bad owners, not bad dogs. We need to be responsibly placing these great pets in homes that love and respect them. Rescues like PRGP make an effort to screen and educate owners to make long term, healthy placements. They can do even more with the help of these funds.
A vote for Pit Rescue is a vote for education! It's a vote for change! And I believe in change! Vote today, vote NOW!

I voted! Good luck! It's so important that we support these great organizations that rescue pit bulls.
