What's Lost Has Been Found!

** UPDATE! ** Maisie the Missing Doxie has been found! A family in Winona, MN came home from vacation on Sunday, and found Maisie on their porch! They took her to the Winona Humane Society who tracked down the Dakota Dachshund Rescue and she was returned. She had lost 1 lb and had some bug bites, but it in otherwise great condition! This is a great lesson in why microchipping is so important.

If you are in the Sioux Falls area you can visit Second Chance Rescue any day of the week to have your pet microchipped with out appointment.

ALL BARK ALARM! Missing Dachshund in Lakefield / Rochester MN Area
Maisie is a 10 lb black and tan dachshund that was being transported for rescue from Madison, WI to Lakefield, MN. While at a stop to allow the dog to rest and go to the bathroom, she slipped her leash and ran off into tall grass. The transport driver searched along the interestate, to no avail. The driver was stopped at Exit 242 on I-90 W with Maisie when she got away. This dog is microchipped! If you have picked up a dachshund in this area, matching this description please scan her. You may also contact
Dakota Dachshund Rescue for more information.
Thank you for your help in bringing her home!

I know! She was gone for such a LONG time, and from what I understand she was many, many miles from where she was lost! Resiliant little pup!
